What are Play Boosters?
Play Boosters are the best that draft and set boosters have to offer, combined into one perfect product, suitable for both the player of limited Magic such as booster draft and sealed deck and the avid collector who likes to open booster packs.

Previously you had the choice between draft, set or collector boosters to collect your new cards. Collector boosters remain unchanged and are still the go-to booster for special foils, special borders and exclusives. Draft and set boosters have been replaced by play boosters. Play boosters have been specially developed with booster draft and sealed deck in mind, but ripping boosters also remains exciting until the last card thanks to the increased chance of showcase cards and rares or mythic rares!

Composition of Play Booster
A play booster contains 15 Magic: the Gathering cards from Modern Horizons 3. The composition of a play booster looks like this:

- 1 foil card with rarity common, uncommon, rare or mythic rare*.
- 1 regular or alternate frame rare or mythic rare*.
- 1 wildcard with rarity common, uncommon, rare or mythic rare*.
- 1 new-to-modern card with rarity uncommon, rare or mythic rare*.
- 3 uncommons.
- 6 commons.
- 1 regular or full-art basic land card or a common card.
- 1 token or advertising card.

In a play booster you always get at least one rare and always one foil card. Furthermore, in one in seven boosters you will not find a rare but a mythic rare! In addition, a play booster contains one new-to-modern reprint slot and two wildcard slots, one foil and one non-foil. Cards in the new-to-modern reprint slot and wildcard slot can have any rarity, from common to mythic rare.

*In these slots you can find various alternate frame treatments, such as borderless art, retro-frame art or Special Guest. In the wildcard slot you will also find retro-frame reprints of a select number cards from Modern Horizons and Modern Horizons 2. The exception is foil Special Guest, which can only be found in Collector Boosters.

Specials guests are special reprints of powerful cards with brand new borderless art. In every booster you have the chance to find a special guest card. These reprints are powerful, sought-after cards or the cards fit perfectly thematically with the set they are in.
